Auckland International Airport is New Zealand’s busiest airport, serving more than 20 million passengers as of June 2022 and over 30 airlines.
With such a high volume of travelers and a relatively small transport team, Auckland needed more than just traditional parking equipment — it required a smart, integrated parking management solution that could:

The Solution:

The project rollout included:
FrogGuidance Smart Parking System: Installed in short-term and drop-off zones at both the International and Domestic terminals, later expanded to five airport-owned parking locations.

Carpark M (Domestic Executive Parking): Data-driven insights revealed demand for additional premium spaces. Using Frogparking analytics, the airport expanded capacity by 544 spaces, turning Carpark M into a premium, high-value product just minutes from the terminal.
Carpark A (International Short-Term P90 Meeting/Farewelling): Smart sensors and signage optimized turnover, leading to a 7% reduction in vehicles circulating and a 6.8% increase in short-stay visitors (<90 minutes).
New Facilities (2024):
Manawa Bay Outlet Centre: Advanced indoor guidance system with extra-large gantry signs to direct vehicles safely from high-speed roads, plus dedicated bays for disabled, EV, and premium parking.
New Parking Building (Oct 2024): Indoor guidance system with FrogSigns throughout, making pre-flight parking easier and less stressful.
