Frogparking’s Cutting-Edge Automated Parking Garage Solution at Oakleigh Central
Frogparking is excited to announce the installation of our advanced automated parking garage system at Oakleigh Central, a bustling shopping mall in Oakleigh, Victoria. This project, completed in May 2018, is part of our ongoing partnership with Vicinity Centres, one of Australia’s leading retail property groups. Oakleigh Central sought a stylish and efficient parking solution to enhance visitor convenience, improve parking utilization, and provide valuable parking data to their Vicinity Data warehouse.
Oakleigh Central wanted a parking system that could decrease parking time and improve space utilization. To meet these goals, Frogparking installed an indoor parking guidance system for the underground and covered multilevel lots. For the rooftop lot, we equipped FrogSensors to offer precise outdoor parking guidance. These sensors communicate with FrogHub, delivering real-time parking data and dynamic signage (FrogSigns) to guide drivers directly to available spaces. The result is a seamless experience that takes the stress out of parking.
FrogGuidance and Dynamic Signage: Leading the Way
Our indoor parking guidance system uses FrogGuidance technology to direct drivers to open spaces in the multilevel car park. In tandem, dynamic signage across the site gives clear, real-time information about where to park. This smart parking system has significantly reduced the time spent cruising for a spot, decreasing parking time by 40%.
FrogSensors: Precision Parking on the Roof
For the rooftop lot, FrogSensors provide reliable outdoor parking guidance. These sensors monitor parking spaces and relay the information to drivers via FrogSigns, directing them to open spots. This streamlined parking system ensures that the roof lot is used efficiently, contributing to the 83% utilization during peak periods.
Innovative LPR Pilot: Enhanced Security and Data
Oakleigh Central was also the pilot site for Frogparking’s per-space license plate reader (LPR) solution. This automated parking garage system enables security teams to locate specific vehicles in the lot. Paired with entry and exit cameras, it delivers precise time-to-park calculations and enhanced security features. The system also features high-speed connectivity to Vicinity’s Data warehouse, allowing continuous transmission of parking data throughout the day.

Since the installation of Frogparking’s automated parking garage solution, Oakleigh Central has seen impressive improvements. Peak utilization has climbed to 83%, with a 15% reduction in time spent cruising for parking.
