Fashion Island Shopping Centre

Fashion Island, located in Newport Beach, California, is an open-air regional shopping mall. It was originally opened in 1967 and features anchor stores such as Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.

With over 15 million annual visitors, and a variety of parking needs, we were excited to develop the IoT parking solution of their dreams. 

 What were the challenges? 

Fashion Island needed to provide vacancy counts to drivers, helping them find parking quickly and easily. The goal was to enhance the overall parking experience for visitors by ensuring they could easily locate available parking spaces.

What was Frogparking’s solution?

Easy as for our experts, we implemented a robust ioT parking solution. Featuring an indoor guidance solution at the site’s three main parking garages. This encompassed the installation of over 2,240 guidance lights, 1,205 individual parking sensors, and 51 signs.

These components worked in tandem to provide real-time vacancy counts to drivers, enabling them to make informed decisions and find parking spaces quickly and efficiently. 

This comprehensive solution not only improved the overall visitor experience but also significantly reduced search times and enhanced convenience for drivers using the parking facilities at the three sites. It is a pure example of how an IoT parking solution can add tangible benefits to any parking space or carpark.
