Frogparking Introduces Mobile Parking System at University Center
In October 2016, Frogparking rolled out the next phase of our parking management project at University Center, California, continuing our successful partnership with the Irvine Company. Our advanced mobile parking system was introduced to tackle a critical issue: employees at tenant sites were taking up premium parking spaces meant for customers. This problem became clear after analyzing parking data collected from the 3,500 FrogSensors installed in the first phase. As a result, the data revealed that tenant employees were violating tenancy agreements by parking in customer-designated areas, leading to parking shortages for visitors.
Solving Parking Issues with Data-Driven Solutions
Our parking data analytics showed that more employees than allowed were arriving on-site and parking in prime spaces. Moreover, this led to congestion and a frustrating experience for customers who struggled to find parking. Therefore, by identifying this pattern, Frogparking was able to help the Irvine Company enforce tenancy agreements and guide employees to more appropriate parking areas. Additionally, this phase highlights the importance of using a mobile parking system that adapts to real-world data and parking behavior.
Introducing Employee Permits and the Mobile Parking App
To address this issue, Frogparking published a custom mobile parking system application. Similarly, this app allows tenant employees to register for employee permits, ensuring they park in designated areas on the outskirts of the parking facility, leaving premium spaces available for customers. Our innovative parking software solution enabled better management of parking allocations, reducing congestion and improving customer satisfaction. This data-driven approach provided immediate relief to University Center’s parking problems while maintaining a positive experience for both employees and visitors.
