Get started.
The Palmerston North Parking app is available on Android and iOS platforms.
To install the app:
- Go to the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS).
- Search for 'Frogparking’.
- Select install and go through the normal process for installing an app on your device.

Sign up
& log in.
Choose to either create an account & log in each time, or continue the process without an account
Creating an account is free, and your online data is secure and safe. You can save your credit card details for quick, fumble free, easy payments time after time. Log into the website at any time to take a look at your parking history and payments. You can even print off a statement for expense reimbursements.
Take the following steps to create an account when using the app for the first time:
- Open the app to the log in screen
- Select "Don't have an account? Sign up now!"
- You'll be taken to the Frogparking website, to create your account
- Fill out your details in the form & create a password to use going forward. Passwords must be at least 8 characters and cannot start or end with white space.
- Your account is active & ready to use instantly.
Ways to Pay
Once you are parked, simply tell the app how long you want to pay for, or select our magical 'auto pay' feature to only be charged for the parking time that you actually use.
Follow the simple steps below
& never fight with a parking meter again!
Step 1
Enter your license plate number
& Bay I.D then hit next.
Your bay I.D will be displayed on the side of the road or curb where you are parked. Generally bay I.Ds are made up of a simple letter and number combination (For example, P1)

Confirm your parking space
Bay I.D is in the correct location
The app will use it’s smarts to detect the parking space closest to your current location, with the bay identity you entered!
There are several spaces across the city with the same I.D, so it is important to doube check this map and confirm you've got the right one. In the odd case where you need to select a different parking space, you can click "Not Your Space” which allows you to simply & interactively find your space on the map.
Step 3
Manage Time
There are 2 different ways you can carry out step 3:
"Pay Per Minute" or "Pay Fixed Amount"
Pay Per Minute
Works like an active stopwatch! With this method you only pay for the moments you are parked, & as soon as you leave you can turn your parking off. Perfect when you don't know how long you need to park for!
Gone are the days of fumbling with loose coins, getting no change, and paying for a longer duration than you had to.
Pay Fixed Amount
Acts just like a traditional payment machine but all from your pocket, contactless & fumble free. Pay a set amount & the app will calculate a duration & end-time for you stay based on what you've paid.
While you're out and about, the app will remind you when your parking time is about to expire, to allow you to top up your parking time, or move your vehicle.
Step 4
Choose your payment method
Your two options here are to either pay via your own account or pay via your credit card.
See the following section to learn how to topup your account, so you're always equipped and ready to pay quickly!
You may also pay via credit card; Bear in mind there will be a $0.50 additional fee per payment.
Add your credit card
& top up your account.
This process will direct you over to the Frogparking website in your browser, where you can top up and/or add your credit card. Follow the simple steps to speed your process up for future parking.
Saving your card details and/or topping up your account will mean you don't have to enter card details each and every time you park!

Password
Reset.
If you forget your password or feel that your account has been compromised, you can request a password reset. The following process will reset your password:
- Visit https://app.frogparking.com/Account/Login
- Press the ‘forgot your password?’ link (Figure 11)
- Enter the email address you use to access the app
- Press Submit. You will be sent an email to confirm your identity
- Find this email and click the link within to confirm you requested the reset.
- Enter your new password at the reset page
Remember that passwords must be between 8 and 16 characters and must neither start nor end with white space.
