Wellington International Airport is an international airport located in the capital city of New Zealand. Wellington is the second busiest airport in New Zealand, having handled over 6 million passengers to date as at June 2022.

Because of its location, space is at a premium. The airport comprises a small restricted 110-hectare (270-acre) site meaning that every parking space on site must be used to its absolute maximum.

Frogparking were thrilled to install our superior indoor parking guidance technology in both the outdoor parking areas as well as their brand-new, multi story parking structure.

Our parking management solution consisted of an impressive 908 patented LiDAR indoor sensors to compliment the surface-mounted sensors (FrogSensor), guidance lights (FrogGuidance) and dynamic directional signage (FrogSigns).

This solution offered superior congestion-management outcomes for Wellington airport.

Covered Carpark

Domestic & International short/medium-term covered parking

Located in Wellington Airport’s new, multi-story parking structure, the Covered Parking option is Wellington International Airport’s “executive parking” option. A short 1-2 minute walk to the domestic & international terminals, the parking structure is a high-value lot for the airport.

Offering a premium experience with parking guidance was critical to installing Frogparking’s technology.

Uncovered Parking

P120 Express Parking

Located a 5-minute walk from the International and Domestic Terminal, the uncovered parking is a short-term option for pick-ups or drop-offs. Before installing Frogparking, motorists were unclear about where parking was available in this high turnover area. This led to congestion, and low turnover as people overstayed, ultimately leading to lost revenue.
